Chadwick Signs with Maple Leafs
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club is excited to announce that defenceman Noah Chadwick has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Chadwick, 18, was selected by the Maple Leafs in the sixth-round (185th overall) of the 2023 National Hockey League Entry Draft. The Saskatoon, SK, product was originally a second-round pick (38th overall) by the Hurricanes in the 2020 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft. He has recorded 24 points (7g-17a) along with 12 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating in 30 regular season games this year with the ‘Canes marking new career high in goals, assists and points.
The 6’4, 200-pound rearguard leads the Hurricanes in defenceman scoring while sitting fourth in team scoring. Chadwick sits tied for 12th in WHL scoring amongst blueliners and sits tied for sixth among Eastern Conference defenceman. He has recorded 47 points (14g-33a) with 32 penalty minutes and a plus-12 rating in 110 regular season games during his WHL career. The sophomore has skated in eight career post-season games collecting one assist.
Chadwick is the first Hurricane to sign a three-year entry-level NHL contract since Dylan Cozens signed with the Buffalo Sabres. He was just the third ‘Cane to be drafted by the Maple Leafs joining Andrew Nielsen (2015) and David Brumby (1993) and was the 81st player in team history selected in the NHL Draft.
