The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club selected goaltender Alex Garrett the 144th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
Garrett, a product of Saskatoon, SK, played Bantam with Saskatoon General this past season. The 5’10″150-pound goalie had a GAA of 2.29 and SVS% of .926 in 17 games.
“Alex is a good technical goalie who challenges the shooter and is calm in the crease. He had a very good season in Saskatoon posting good numbers”, said Hitmen Director of Player Personnel Dallas Thompson

Who Do You Model Your Game After? I like to model my game after Darcy Kuemper, Jordan Binnington, and Marc-Andre Fleury.
What Is Your Pre-Game Ritual? I like to arrive at the rink 2 hours before warm ups. From there I unpack all my gear, tape my stick, do some visualizing, do a team warm up and then go off on my own and do some stretching.
How Would You Describe Your Play-Style? I like to think I’m a quick, athletic goaltender. I think I can read plays well and use my skating to my advantage.
What is your favourite hockey memory to date? Definitely driving out to Canmore for a tournament last spring. We went into that tournament as an underage team and came out on top, so it was pretty memorable.
How Was This Past Season For You And Your Team? We had a really good team with the Saskatoon Generals. I thought we were a closely-knit group and had lots of good leaders. We finished 3rd in our league and I thought we had pretty good odds to win the whole thing.
