Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen and CrossIron Mills partnered to “Shoot for the Stars” in an effort to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Alberta®. During the month of November, CrossIron Mills through their retail locations, raised $13,000 for this terrific charity. That amount was beefed up at the November 26th Calgary Hitmen vs. Red Deer Rebels game.
A second intermission contest was held with three contestants selected to compete in the “Shoot for the Stars” promotion. After a series of CrossIron Mills trivia, each contestant was able to choose from a star that when revealed, contained a CrossIron Mills gift card value valued at $100, $250, $500 or $1500.
The value of the star not chosen this year was $1,500 which was added to the original $13,000 CrossIron Mills donation resulting in a net contribution of $14,500 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Alberta®.
“We feel very honoured and privileged to be part of this successful campaign,” commented Calgary Hitmen Director of Business Operations Mike Moore. “The partnership the Calgary Hitmen shared with CrossIron Mills is a terrific example of working together to increase both the awareness and funds for charities like the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Alberta®. On behalf of the entire Hitmen organization I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude for this opportunity.”
“CrossIron Mills is unwaveringly committed to supporting the communities in which we operate and we are honoured to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Alberta as our 2010 Charity-of-Choice,” explained James Moller, General Manager of CrossIron Mills. The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Alberta grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. On behalf of CrossIron Mills and The Make-A-Wish Foundation® we would like to thank the Calgary Hitmen organization for their support of our 2010 fundraising initiatives”
