SIGNED: Calgary Hitmen Sign Defenceman Tate Batchelor
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen have signed defenceman Tate Batchelor to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Batchelor was listed by the Calgary Hitmen in the spring of 2026. The defenceman spent the 2025-26 season with the Stillwater High School Ponies, serving as team captain. He recorded 41 points (10 goals, 31 assists) during the season.
“We are excited that Tate has chosen the Calgary Hitmen to continue his development in junior hockey,” said General Manager Cass Bruni. “Tate is a smart, competitive defenceman who had an outstanding season as captain of a strong Stillwater High School program. He adds to a strong group of young defencemen in our prospect pool.”
Batchelor joins the Hitmen after establishing himself as one of the top young defencemen in Minnesota high school hockey.
