Brandon, MB –Scott Glennie had five assists to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 9-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen Friday night at Westman Place.
A couple of Hitmen recorded milestones in the loss as Chase Clayton and Keaton Lubin both scored their first goals in the Western Hockey League.
Mark Stone, Michael Ferland, Shane Wiebe and Braden Walker all had two goals each for Brandon while Tyrel Seaman added a single.
The Wheat Kings outshot Calgary 50-31 and built period leads of 1-0 and 6-1.
Calgary, who wrapped up a stretch of five games in seven nights, won’t play again until Wednesday when they visit the Hurricanes in Lethbridge.
The game will mark the start of back-to-back-to-back games against their Central Division rivals with Calgary also in Lethbridge next Friday before returning home to host the Hurricanes on Sunday, January 16th at 2pm.
