Roster Update: Hitmen Call Up Three Prospects
Defenceman Calder Hamilton (’09) and forward Koy Funk (’08) and have been called up by the Calgary Hitmen and added to the roster as Affiliate Players. Defenceman Kale McCann (’09) remains on the roster as an AP after being up early December.
Calder Hamilton, Calgary’s first-round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft is playing AAA U18 Hockey in Saskatchewan as a 15-year-old with the Warman Wildcats. In 22 games the defenceman has 24 points (8g, 16a).
Koy Funk, Calgary’s fourth-round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft is playing in the MJHL with the Portage Terriers. The 16-year-old forward has 24 points (10g, 14a) in 29 games. Funk just received the MJHL Rookie of the Month leading all 2008 born players in scoring.
Kale McCann, one of three Hitmen picks in the second round of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft is playing U18 Prep in the CSSHL as a 15-year-old with the South Alberta Hockey Academy. Through 21 games, the defenceman from Cochrane, AB, has 13 points (1G,12A).
