NHL DRAFT: Five Hitmen Players Ranked by NHL Central Scouting
Five Calgary Hitmen players were listed in the NHL Central Scouting preliminary rankings for the 2026 NHL Draft on Tuesday. Landon Amrhein and Ben MacBeath were listed as B-ranked Skaters, Aidan Hesse, Andrei Molgachev and Hunter Aura were listed as W-ranked Skaters.

Ben MacBeath – Defence
(B Ranked – 2nd/3rd Round)
Ben MacBeath came to the Calgary Hitmen in a trade with the Kelowna Rockets. He was drafted by Kelowna in the seventh round of the 2024 WHL Prospects draft. A product of Calgary, MacBeath played the 2024-25 season with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL) finishing the season with 34 points (4g, 30a).
Landon Amrehin – Forward
(B Ranked – 2nd/3rd Round)
Originally drafted by the Portland Winterhawks in the 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft, the Hitmen acquired Amrhein from the Winterhawks back in May. The 6’4 forward from Celina, Texas has for is coming off an impressive 2024-25 season with the Dallas Stars Elite, notching 92 points (29g, 63a) in 58 games. Amrhein is off to an excellent start in his rookie season with the Hitmen riding a seven game point streak (3g,5a).
Hunter Aura – Defence
(W Ranked – 6th/7th Round)
Hunter Aura was drafted by the Calgary Hitmen in the third round (51st overall) in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. The defenceman has gone on to player 75 games with the Hitmen registering 26 points (10g, 16a). Coming into his second season with Calgary, Aura is a mainstay on the backend with three points in 9 games.
Andrei Molgachev – Forward
(W Ranked – 6th/7th Round)
Andrei Molgachev was drafted by the Hitmen in the first round (25th overall) of the 2025 CHL Import Draft. The Russian import currently leads Calgary in scoring with 11 points (7G-4A) in nine games, and was name WHL Rookie of the week after his first career hat trick vs the Spokane Chiefs.
Aidan Hesse – Goalie
(W Ranked – 6th/7th Round)
Listed by Calgary earlier this year, 17-year-old goaltender Hesse, came to the Hitmen after winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Hesse has spent the past two seasons with the Sioux Falls Power program, most recently anchoring their 16U AAA squad. In 24 starts last season, he recorded a 3.83 goals-against average and a standout .929 save percentage.
