Hitmen Select Two in 2024 WHL U.S. Priority Draft
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen selected a defenceman and forward in the WHL U.S. Priority Draft for 2009 born U.S players. The 2024 draft was conducted online Wednesday morning, hosted by the Western Hockey League Office.
Calgary drafted defenceman Parker Schellenberg with their first pick, 3rd overall. The product of Irvine California, Schellenberg split the 2023-24 season with the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and the JSerra Catholic Prep Lions. In the second round of the two-round draft, Calgary selected forward Logan Brown 28th overall. Originally from Palmer, Alaska, Brown played for the Dallas Stars Elite in the 2023-24 season averaging a point a game.
“We are very excited to draft and welcome both Parker and Logan to our program.,” said Hitmen Assistant General Manager Cass Bruni “Parker is a complete defenceman who contributes in all areas of the game with very good physical tools. Logan is dynamic offensive player with great speed and instincts.”

Eligible for today’s draft were 2009-born players who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
