GAME PREVIEW: Calgary at Prince Albert | 02.04.26
HITMEN HEADLINES: The Calgary Hitmen (26-13-6-1) winners of four of their last five games are on the road in Prince Albert tonight to face the Eastern Conference leading Raiders (37-7-4-0). Game time is 7:00 p.m. (CT), 6:00 p.m. (MT) at Art Hauser Centre. Fans can watch the game for FREE on Victory+. The Hitmen face a back-to-back after last night’s 7-1 victory in Saskatoon. The Blades opened the scoring before Calgary erupted for seven unanswered goals, five of them coming within a span of 12:52 in the second period. Kale Dach scored twice for the Hitmen with Calder Hamilton, Rylan Ng, Caine Wilke, Julien Maze and Axel Hurtig adding singles while Hunter Aura, Andrei Molgachev and Keaton Jundt all chipped in a pair of assists. The Hitmen outshot the Blades 36-16 and went 4-4 on the power play with goaltender Eric Tu made 15 saves to record the win. Prince Albert meanwhile has been idle since last Sunday when they beat the Blades in Saskatoon, skating to a 3-1 victory. Aiden Oiring scored the game winner for the Raiders, snapping a 1-1 tie with 12:10 remaining.
WHERE THEY STAND: The Hitmen are fourth in the Eastern Conference at 59 points, two points ahead of fifth place Brandon but with three games in hand on the Wheat Kings. Prince Albert leads the conference with 78 points, four points up on second place Medicine Hat.
PRINCE ALBERT: Tonight marks the third of four regular season meetings between the two clubs. Calgary is 2-0 having won a pair of one-goal games. Kale Dach (2g, 1a) and Wyatt Pisarczyk (1g, 2a) lead the Hitmen with three points each in the season series. Riley Boychuk (1g, 1a) and Jonah Sivertson (2a) are the top performing Raiders with two points each. Their final meeting is Friday, Mar. 6, at Scotiabank Saddledome.

NHL DRAFT COUNTDOWN: NHL Central Scouting has released its midterm rankings for the 2026 NHL Draft. Three Hitmen are on the list of the top 225 North American skaters. Defenceman Ben MacBeath is #20, forward Landon Amrhein is #85 and forward Andrei Molgachev is #199.
HEADING WEST: Two Hitmen have been named to Team East for the WHL’s inaugural Prospects Game presented by Showpass. Both Defenceman Ben MacBeath and forward Landon Amrhein will play in the Wednesday, Feb. 18 contest at the home of the Vancouver Giants, the Langley Events Centre. All 23 WHL Clubs are represented in the event with each roster consisting of 22 players. NHL Central Scouting worked with the WHL to determine player selection.
WE MEET AGAIN: Tonight is the first meeting between the two clubs since their Dec. 15, 2025, trade which saw Calgary acquire Ty Meunier, a second-round pick in 2026 and a conditional 2027 fourth-round selection, both in the WHL Prospects Draft in exchange for Brandon Gorzynski.
TRANSACTIONS: On Monday the Hitmen added forward Antionio Correia to the roster as an affiliate player after reassigning fellow prospect Jack Poole to the CSSHL’s U18 Prep North Shore Warriors. This is Correia’s second stop with the Hitmen after opening the season on the roster and appearing in one game. This season the 16-year-old is a member of the Winnipeg AAA U18 Bruins where he has tallied 36 points (12g, 24a) in 26 games. The Winnipeg, MB product was a second-round pick of the Hitmen, 28th overall, in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.
FAST FACT: Calgary has picked up points in 17 of their last 22 games, posting a record of 14-5-3-0…Luc Trevors eclipsed 200 faceoff wins last night in Saskatoon…The Hitmen are 8-3-2-0 against teams from the East Division.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTEBOOK: The Hitmen power play, which has scored at least once in 14 of the last 18 games, has climbed into second place in the WHL at 31.5%…The Hitmen penalty kill is sixth at 79.7%.
HOME AND AWAY COMPARISON: The Hitmen are 13-6-4-1 on the road where they have outscored their opponents by a combined 94-79. Prince Albert is 16-3-2-0 at the Art Hauser Centre and has given up a league low 45 goals on home ice.
JANUARY REWIND: The Hitmen went 7-3-2-0 last month. Here in February, Calgary faces a schedule that serves up 13 games in 26 days which began last night in Saskatoon. Of those 13 games, seven are on home ice with six on the road.
WHL REGULAR SEASON MILESTONES: Ty Meunier and Wyatt Pisarczyk are both one point shy of 50. Hunter Aura reached 50 last night in Saskatoon.
MAYFAIR DIAGNOSTICS INJURY REPORT: Harrison Lodewyk (Lower Body, Day-to-Day)
PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Keaton Jundt is in his rookie campaign in the Western Hockey League after the Hitmen listed him then signed Keaton to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement last May. Jundt, from West Fargo, North Dakota, spent the 2024-25 campaign playing U16 AAA with the Sioux Falls Power where he tallied an impressive 52 points (20g, 32a) in 29 games. The 17-year-old forward has 16 points (8g, 8a) this season including nine points (3g, 6a) in his last 12 games.
ROSTER CONSTRUCTION: Calgary has 23 players on their roster including 14 forwards, seven defencemen and two goaltenders. There are only six returning players from last season with 12 rookies on the club.
HITMEN ALUMNI REPORT: Oliver Tulk is in the NCAA playing Big-10 with the University of Wisconsin. The 20-year-old forward has 17 points (5g, 12a) in 26 games. Tulk played four seasons with the Hitmen, from 2021-2025. He led the team in scoring last season with 100 points (38g, 62a).
PROSPECT WATCH: Kael Scott, Calgary’s third round pick, 64th overall, is playing AAA in the Alberta Elite U18 Hockey League with Lloydminster. The 15-year-old forward has 38 points (16g, 22a) in 32 games with the Lancers.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE: The Hitmen Road trip uses tomorrow as a travel day to Manitoba before facing the Wheat Kings in Brandon on Friday, Feb. 6 (7:00 p.m.). The journey then wraps up in Regina on Saturday, Feb. 7 against the Pats (6:00 p.m.). Calgary is then back home on Wednesday, Feb. 11 to host the Swift Current Broncos in a 7:00 p.m. start at Scotiabank Saddledome.
