PREVIEW: Giants Host Tips Tonight in Preston Chevrolet Teddy Bear Toss

Langley, B.C. – Tonight the Vancouver Giants (11-16-2-0) host the Everett Silvertips (18-11-1-1) for the Preston Chevrolet Teddy Bear Toss at 7 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
The Giants were in Everett last night for the Silvertips’ Teddy Bear Toss, which ended in a 4-1 win for the home side.
Last year, former Silvertip defenceman Dylan Anderson scored the Teddy Bear goal for Vancouver 41 seconds into the second period of their game against the Kelowna Rockets. The Giants won that game 3-2 in overtime.
Tonight, the Giants will look to reverse last night’s script against a team they are 0-2 against so far in head-to-head games this season. This is the third of four head-to-head meetings this season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vancouver Giants lost 4-1 to the Everett Silvertips on Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.
Scoring the lone goal for Vancouver was Jaden Lipinski, his eighth of the season. Giants goaltender Brett Mirwald tied a career-high with 51 saves.
TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
The Giants dropped a 6-2 decision on November 11 to Everett before falling 4-1 last night, meaning they trail the season series 2-0. Both those games were on the road.
Vancouver enters with a 6-6-2 record on home ice, while the Sivertips are 6-9-0-1 on the road this season. Everett is 2-4-1 in their last seven road contests.
The Giants will look to keep their discipline in check this evening, as they were shorthanded last night for more than 11 minutes. While their penalty kill has been extremely strong this season (5th in the WHL at 83.1%), they have been shorthanded the most times in the WHL (136 – tied with Medicine Hat). Everett’s penalty kill is the third-worst in the WHL at 73.3%.
