Broncos Take First Win on BC Road Trip
The Swift Current Broncos take their first win of their BC road trip Friday night as they edged the Vancouver Giants 3-1 at the Pacific Coliseum.
Former Giant Levi Bews would waste no time putting the Broncos on the board as he tallied his 14th of the season just over a minute into play. By the midway mark of the first frame it would be 2-0 Swift Current as Ryon Moser would follow through off of a feed from Graham Black to round up his 10th of the year.
The Broncos would hold onto their two goal lead until the halfway mark of the second period as Riley Kieser would tally his fourth of the season to put the Giants within one. Minutes later Broncos captain Adam Lowry would be awarded a penalty shot (his second in as many games) where he would waste no time capitalizing and restore Swift Current’s two goal lead.
Neither team would further the score from that point on. The Giants would pull netminder Payton Lee in the final minutes of play for the extra attacker. But, Finnish goaltender Eetu Laurikainen would remain calm and make some incredible saves resulting in a 3-1 final.
The Broncos were outshot 29-25 and went 0 for 1 on the man advantage.
UP NEXT: The Broncos visit the Victoria Royals at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre Saturday night. Then, the Broncos take on the Prince George Cougars at the CN Centre on Tuesday evening.

Levi Bews would tally a goal and an assist in his return to the lineup since recovering from a minor injury.
Adam Lowry has capitalized on two penalty shots (in as many consecutive games). He also extends his point streak (5G,6A) to seven games and currently leads the team in scoring (15-22-37).
Eetu Laurikainen made some highlight reel saves in Friday night’s contest against the Giants. With the win he improves his record to 13-14-2-2.
