Broncos Drop Contest to ‘Tips
The Swift Current Broncos suffered a 3-1 loss to the visiting Everett Silvertips at the Credit Union iPlex Wednesday evening.
Josh Winquist would open the scoring roughly two and a half minutes into play with a shorthanded marker to give the Silvertips and early lead. Everett’s Kohl Bauml would follow suit near the end of the first period to make it 2-0 ‘Tips after 20 minutes.
In the second period Chance Lund would put the Broncos on the board with the lone goal of the frame to make it 2-1 after two.
The third period would remain scoreless up until the final minute of regulation as the Broncos would pull netminder Eetu Laurikainen for the extra attacker. But, play wouldn’t go quite their way as Bauml would score an empty netter to seal the deal and make it a 3-1 final.
UP NEXT: Your Swift Current Broncos host the Saskatoon Blades on Friday. Then, the Broncos welcome the Tri-City Americans to the Credit Union iPlex on Saturday night.
