Blades Welcome Pats To Saskatoon
The Saskatoon Blades (7-4-0-1) play host to the Regina Pats (9-4-0-0) tonight at the Credit Union Centre.
For the Blades, it’s their first game since last Friday and their first game on home ice in 15 days. Saskatoon returned from their US division road trip this past Saturday after they played five games in seven days and were away from Saskatoon for a total of 11 days. During that trip they walked away with three of a possible ten points.
The Pats meanwhile are coming off of a weekend home-and-home sweep of the Prince Albert Raiders. They outscored Prince Albert 9-3 during the two games on Saturday and Sunday.
Both teams are off to great starts to the season with the Blades sitting 3rd in the Eastern division and 7th overall in the Eastern conference. Regina is 1st in the division and 2nd in the conference behind only the Kootenay Ice.
This is the first meeting of the season between these two East division clubs. The Saskatoon Blades went 4-1-0-1 against the Regina Pats last season in six separate meetings. Their wins included two games of 6-2 finals, a 3-2 overtime win and a 4-2 win to end the regular season.
In the six meetings, it was Saskatoon outscoring Regina 24-17.
Saskatoon also had success against Regina on home ice, winning all three of the meetings between the two teams at Credit Union Centre last season.
The Blades should also be happy to be home from their recent road swing as the team has enjoyed big time success on home ice this season by going 5-0. In those games they have outscored the opposition 21-10.
The puckdrop goes at just after 7:00 PM tonight from Credit Union Centre and there are great tickets still available. Season seats are also still available, so contact the Blades office at 975-8844!
