Blades Welcome Grey Cup Champion Roughriders January 4th
Want to meet national football heroes, all while celebrating Ukrainian Night with the Saskatoon Blades? Now is your opportunity as the Saskatoon Blades are extremely pleased to welcome members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders into the Credit Union Centre as part of the festivities on January 4th, 2014.
Members of the CFL Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders will be in attendance as the first stop on their Grey Cup Tour when the Blades play host to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Ukrainian Night!
“We’re absolutely honoured to be the first stop on what is going to be a fantastic tour and celebration of a huge victory for the Roughriders and the entire province of Saskatchewan,” said Saskatoon Blades President Steve Hogle. “It’s going to be a memorable night for the fans and we look forward to the blue and white celebrating the achievement of winning the 101st Grey Cup with the green and white.”
Saskatchewan Roughriders President and CEO, Jim Hopson, “After a storybook season, we want to share this victory with many Rider fans in Saskatchewan. This team means a lot to the fabric of all of Saskatchewan and the players are excited to meet and greet as many Rider fans as possible.”
The Blades game will be the only place in Saskatoon where fans will have the chance to meet the Roughriders during their stop in Saskatoon, getting pictures with the Grey Cup trophy and members of the Grey Cup Champion’s after a small charitable donation.
The doors to the building will be open at 5:30PM on January 4th as members of the Roughriders will be signing autographs before the game and during both the first and second intermission’s. Great prizes will also be up for grabs that night during Ukrainian Night, including autographed Saskatchewan Roughriders jerseys.

As previously mentioned, January 4th against the Hurricanes is also the Blades 2nd Annual Ukrainian Night celebration. Last year’s event was a huge success as it featured Ukrainian food and entertainment, with this year being no different. You can find your tickets for the big night by clicking here.
The Blades next action isn’t until December 27th as they travel to meet the Prince Albert Raiders following the WHL’s holiday break. The Blades are then at home to those same Raiders the next night, on December 28th. You can go ahead and find your tickets for the game right here.
