Blades Put Point Streak On Line In Medicine Hat
The Saskatoon Blades look to extend their point streak to four games so far in 2014 as they travel to Medicine Hat to meet the Tigers.
The Blades are coming off of a 5-2 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday night. Saskatoon got two points each from Clayton Kirichenko, Graeme Craig, Nick Zajac and Logan Harland, with Zajac and Harland each scoring twice. The Blades other goal came off the stick of Chase Clayton into an empty net as Troy Trombley made 43 saves for the victory. On special teams the Blades were 3 for 6 on the PP and 4 for 5 on the PK.

October 26th – Blades 4 – Tigers 6 – Matt Revel, Nathan Burns, Collin Valcourt each had 2 points.
October 30th – Tigers 4 Blades 3 – Nikita Scherbak, Nathan Burns, Collin Valcourt each had 2 points.

Naming New Leaders
The Saskatoon Blades have named a new trio of alternate captains to join team captain Graeme Craig. The new group consists of Nick Zajac, Brett Stovin and Dylan Busenius, who was acquired from Prince Albert at the end of December. The naming of new alternate captains was made necessary following the trading of Nathan Burns and Collin Valcourt to Swift Current and Prince Albert respectively, along with the potentially season-ending injury to defenceman Nelson Nogier.
Trombley Standing Tall
The Blades have been getting solid goaltending from Sherwood Park, Alberta product Troy Trombley since the start of December. The 6’6 goaltender has put up at least a .900 save percentage in each of his past 10 appearances. Over that stretch, he’s posted a 2.91 goals against average and a .932 save percentage. Included in that are starts in each of the Blades three games of 2014, registering two wins and a shootout loss to go with a 2.59 goals against average and .939 save percentage.
