Blades Get Set For Oil Kings
The Saskatoon Blades will be looking to stretch both their overall winning streak and their winning streak on home ice tonight as they play host to the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Blades are coming off a 4-1 win on Wednesday over the visiting Prince George Cougars. That win stretched the team’s record to 4-1 on the year and their record on home ice to a still undefeated 3-0.
The Oil Kings are also coming off a victory as they dumped Moose Jaw on the road last night by a score of 3-1. That victory has them sitting at 3-1-1-1 this season and tied for the top spot in the Central Division.
Saskatoon is expected to have a new body to add to the lineup tonight as the team welcomed forward Darian Dziurzynski back to Saskatoon this week after a stint with the Phoenix Coyotes and the Portland Pirates of the AHL.
Dziurzynski has spent four seasons with the Saskatoon Blades, appearing in 239 games. Last season was a career-year for him as he scored 35 goals, added 22 helpers and put up 125 minutes in penalties.
The puck drop for tonight’s game takes place at 7:05 at Credit Union Centre. Make sure to check it out as these two teams always seem to have exciting and high scoring matchups. A total of 30 goals were scored between the teams in their four meetings last year, with the Blades outscoring the Oil Kings 20-10.
