Schedule and Rosters for 2022 Training Camp presented by Motion Fitness
SASKATOON, SK – The Saskatoon Blades 2022 training camp, presented by Motion Fitness, will run from Thursday, September 1st until Sunday, September 4th.
73 players are attending camp this year. Players drafted in the 2021 Prospect Draft were unable to attend camp last year due to the draft taking place after the start of the season.
Players from both the 2021 and 2022 Prospect Draft’s will be attending camp for the first time together. The 2006 and 2007 players will be on the ice the first day by themselves and split into separate teams. Team Brennan and Team Meagan will both have a single practice each on Thursday before playing in the evening.
The names for the teams on the first day are inspired by the children of the late Bobby Kirkness.
On the second day, the teams will be re-organized and all players attending camp will be slotted into four separate teams. The teams Friday threw Sunday are named after Blades Alumni which include Maier, Peters, Keller, and Hulak. See detailed rosters for training camp below.
From Friday to Sunday, all four teams will play for the Kirkness Cup. Games will start Friday evening with the first game scheduled for 4:15 pm. The Kirkness Championship game will serve as the official wrap-up for training camp, and is scheduled for 12 pm on Sunday.
