NEWS: Blades & Royals swap tenders
The Saskatoon Blades have completed a trade with the Victoria Royals, sending 18 year old goaltender Joel Grzybowski to Victoria in exchange for fellow 18 year old netminder, Hunter Arps.
Arps, originally drafted by the Brandon Wheat Kings, was acquired by the Royals earlier this season in a separate trade. The 18 year old Pleasantdale, SK, product has been playing with the Melfort Mustangs this season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Through 10 games Arps owns a .903SV% to go along with a 2.66GAA, 1 shutout, and a 6-1-0-1 record.
Hunter Arps stands at 6’3″ and 165lbs and catches with his right hand. He is expected to join the Blades for practice Friday. Hunter has yet to make his WHL debut in the regular season but has played in 3 pre-season games; 1 this past Fall with Victoria and twice in 2016 with Brandon.
The Blades would also like to thank Joel Grzybowski for his time and contributions to our team and the community.
