Tonight
The Saskatoon Blades (17-8-2-2) look to snap a four-game winless skid Friday at the Brandt Centre against the Regina Pats (7-17-3-2).
Tonight concludes the Blue and Gold’s three-game road trip. The Blades are 0-2 on the trip, dropping a 6-4 game Tuesday against the Medicine Hat Tigers and a 2-1 decision Wednesday versus the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
It’s the second meeting of the season between the Blades and Pats. Saskatoon is up 1-0 in the season series after a 4-3 overtime victory on October 15 at SaskTel Centre. Despite recent struggles, the Blades are first in the Eastern Conference at 17-8-2-2, three points ahead of the second-place Medicine Hat Tigers.
Who to Watch
20-year-old sniper Brandon Lisowsky scored career goal 137 in Tuesday’s loss against the Tigers. The Port Coquitlam, BC product’s tally puts him one goal shy of tying alumnus Josh Nicholls for sixth place on the Blades’ all-time goal scoring list. Lisowsky is second on the team in points with 31 (16G, 15A) after an assist Wednesday against Lethbridge. The left-handed shot is on a seven-game point streak with six goals and five assists in that span.
Captain Ben Saunderson scored the lone goal for Saskatoon in Wednesday loss to the Hurricanes. The WHL senior has 18 points in 29 games, averaging the highest points-per-game pace of his career at 0.62.
