Forward Easton Armstrong announces mayoral run for Saskatoon
Saskatoon, SK – Saskatoon Blades forward Easton Armstrong has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Saskatoon. The 21-year-old winger announced his running via a letter Friday afternoon. Armstrong’s decision to run comes after a dominating five-goal performance in Round 1 of the WHL Playoffs.
“My first order of business will be severing all trade ties with the Prince Albert Raiders.”
Key accomplishments for Armstrong on the the Blades council include developing relationships with people with learning disabilities after sharing his story of being diagnosed with dyslexia, consistently amusing fans with his goofball personality and mannerisms, and scoring a hat-trick (including the overtime game-winner) in Game 3 against the Raiders in Prince Albert.
“This city deserves nothing more than a WHL Championship. I give you my word I will do everything in my power, whether it be hat-tricks, big hits, or big goalie hugs after a win, to make sure the Ed Chynoweth Cup comes to where it belongs.
Armstrong strongly believes Blades fans are the best hockey fans in the world and will be participating in incentives to make sure they’re celebrated properly. Armstrong’s campaign will be co-chaired by captain Trevor Wong and alternate captains Charlie Wright, Fraser Minten, Brandon Lisowsky, and Tanner Molendyk.
