Remembering Bobby Kirkness through the Bobby Kirkness Cup

It has been a year to this day since the long time locker room attendant and Blades volunteer Bobby Kirkness passed away.

The Bobby Kirkness Cup is a tournament Blades players have been competing for since 2016. The tournament, held during training camp is an example of hard work, determination, and above all character, something that Bobby exhibited every day.

“Bobby was a fixture around here for many years. He was someone that made everyones day better,” commented Associate General Manager Steve Hildebrand. “He never walked into the rink without making sure he made everyones days better. Not having him around has been really tough, but we’re going to keep remembering him each and every year on this day.”

Training Camp runs from September 1st to September 4th with the Bobby Kirkness Championship Game scheduled for Sunday.
