Novice Hockey team surprised by drop in from the Blades
Saskatoon, SK – Last week the Saskatoon Blades gave the gift of surprising a local novice hockey team at an off-ice practice session. The Novice Renegade Avengers’ players thought it was just another regular week-night practice, but their Coaches and the Blades’ knew otherwise.
With the novice players throwing their sticks in the middle prior to a scrimmage, Brandon Machado, Braylon Shmyr, Evan Fiala, Kirby Dach, Randen Schmidt and Chase Wouters all walked in one by one, declaring their intention to join the scrimmage and throwing their sticks in the middle too.
After playing floor hockey with the Avengers, in which they may have gotten a little too competitive, the Blades took the time to sign autographs for the kids and finally participated in a breakaway challenge playing as the netminders for the excited novice shooters.
The Blades would like to thank Head Coach Deldan Kohlman, Team Manager Stephanie Jorgensen and the whole Renegade Avengers team for having the players out for the evening and wish all involved a happy holiday season!
