Tri-City Herald: Holland excited to sign with Canadiens

KENNEWICK — It has been nearly a month since Tri-City Americans coach Jim Hiller decided to pair Patrick Holland with Brendan Shinnimin and Adam Hughesman.
The result has been nothing short of spectacular, and the Montreal Canadiens have taken action to make sure Holland stays within their system.
Montreal signed Holland, 20, to a three-year contract Wednesday. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“It was pretty cool,” said Holland, who signed Wednesday morning with agent Kevin Epp. “We had been talking a little bit back and forth, so it wasn’t a surprise, but it’s a relief to get it over with.”
Holland, from Lethbridge, Alberta, is the second Tri-City player to sign an NHL contract in the last week. Shinnimin signed March 2 with the Phoenix Coyotes.
