The Tri-City Americans are looking for families interested in hosting Americans players for the upcoming season. Our players come from all over Western North America and Europe to play here in Kennewick. To make this possible, we use host families (called “billets” in the hockey community) to provide a home away from home for our players during the season.
Host families play a vital role in our organization by providing players with a safe and positive home life. The Americans players are ages 15-20 and often moving away from their own families for the first time. The support and care from our host families helps the players succeed on and off the ice.
Being a billet family can be a very rewarding experience. Strong bonds are often made between the player, his parents and the billet family, which often extend well into the future, after the player has moved on from the Americans. The Americans organization, the players, and their families appreciate the commitment, generosity and dedication of our host families.
