Examiner.com: Ams romp past Prince George
By Rene Ferran | Examiner.com
It was the type of offensive explosion the Tri-City Americans hadn’t had since opening night.
The Americans scored four goals in a span of seven minutes, blowing open a 1-1 game en route to a 7-3 victory Friday over the homestanding Prince George Cougars to open a four-game road trip.
Jordan Messier broke the tie with a goal at 17:01 of the second period.
Then in rapid succession, Justin Feser scored twice during the first four minutes of the third, and in between he assisted on a goal by Adam Hughesman — who continued his torrid start to the season with his second goal of the night and 10th in 13 games.
Patrick Holland later scored to cap off a five-point night, and Tanner Olstad got his first career WHL goal in the final two minutes for the Americans, who won for the fifth time in six games.
The offensive fireworks allowed rookie goalie Chris Driedger to earn the win in his WHL debut. Driedger made 23 saves.
The teams square off again tonight in P.G.
