The Tri-City Americans probably deserved a better fate than the 4-3 loss they were dealt by the Chilliwack Bruins on Friday night in British Columbia.
“We played better than we did last Saturday,” said Ams coach Jim Hiller, referencing a 5-0 loss to Spokane. “We generated some offense, so that was encouraging, but to come up short again is disappointing.”
When you’re in the midst of a five-game losing streak — the franchise’s first since the end of the 2005-06 season — the kinds of breaks that go your way when you’re doing well went against the Americans in this one.
Justin Feser twice hit the left post — once in the first period, and the second time with just over 2 minutes left on what would have been the game-tying goal.
