RECAP: Americans (1) @ Silvertips (7) – October 3, 2025
Everett, WA – The Tri-City Americans (0-3-0-0) didn’t back down physically to the Everett Silvertips (3-0-1-0) Friday night, but dropped a 7-1 score on the road.
The fireworks started early as Cash Koch and Shea Busch dropped the gloves just eight seconds into the game. The two teams went down to four-on-four as a result, and Everett opened the scoring.
After a long shot was denied by Ryan Grout, Julius Miettinen jumped on the rebound, which was also stopped by Grout, but Miettinen got another rebound and slammed it home just 48 seconds into the game.
Moments later, Everett went to a four-on-three power play and Zackary Shantz put home a backdoor feed to give Everett a 2-0 lead just 1:34 into the game.
Tri-City responded with a power play goal of their own as Charlie Elick let a wrist shot go from the high slot, beating Raiden LeGall through traffic to cut the Everett lead to 2-1 8:21 into the first period.
The Silvertips restored their two-goal advantage nearly four minutes later when Miettinen took a centering pass from below the goal line and quickly snapped a shot over Grout’s glove for his second of the game.
The Americans trailed 3-1 at the first intermission with the shots reading 23-9 Everett.
Period two started off on the wrong foot for the Americans as Busch scored off the rush following a neutral zone turnover just 1:06 into the period.
Things settled down offensively for a while following that goal as Grout made a number of high-quality saved to keep the Americans within striking distance. Shots read 39-19 through 40 minutes.
The score remained 4-1 until the later stages of the third when the Silvertips rattled off three goals in under three minutes, capped off by Miettinen completing the hat trick with a shorthanded goal. Final shots on net were 57-27, as the Americans went five-for-seven on the penalty kill.
Tri-City now turns to their home opener, set for Saturday night against the Wenatchee Wild (0-1-1-1) with a 6:05 puck drop at the Toyota Center.
