Jody Hull, T.J. Millar sign contract extensions
Kennewick, WA – Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today that associate coaches Jody Hull and T.J. Millar have both been signed to contract extensions.
“Both Jody and T.J. did a tremendous job ensuring our ‘Players-First’ philosophy was followed despite it being a very challenging season,” said Tory. “They both spent a lot of time individually on player development and video with our athletes.”
Hull, from Petrolia, Ontario, now enters his third season with the Americans and 20th year in junior hockey. Prior to joining the Americans for the 2022-23 season, Hull spent 13 years with the OHL’s Peterborough Petes both as an assistant coach (2005-2012) and head coach (2012-2018). He then joined the OHL’s Niagara Ice Dogs as an associate coach from 2018-2022.
Hull also had a 16-year professional career from 1988-2004 that included 831 games in the NHL with the Hartford Whalers, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia Flyers.
Millar, from Calgary, Alberta, also enters his third year with the Americans and 11th season as a coach. From 2016-2021 Millar was an assistant coach in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and Alberta Junior Hockey League. He was then hired by the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2021-22 season working with players at the NHL, AHL and ECHL levels.
