Americans Sign Prospect Nicholas Sanders
KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 16-year-old prospect Nicholas Sanders to a standard WHL Players Contract.
Sanders, a 6’1 193-pound goaltender from Calgary, Alberta, played the 2013-14 season with the Calgary Rangers Minor Midget, competing in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League. Sanders played in 39 games for the Rangers, accumulating a 3.65 GAA, a 0.89 save percentage and three shutouts. Sanders was drafted in the 6th round (125th overall) in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
“Nick has had a very strong camp,” Americans Head Scout Barclay Parneta said. “He came to camp and showed a determination to compete at this level. He has shown the tools and abilities that will allow him to play in the WHL.”
