Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League in association with the Ontario Hockey League today announced that Saginaw Spirit forward Jordan Szwarz has been added to the Team OHL roster that will compete in the 2010 SUBWAY® Super Series game on Monday November 15 in Sudbury, ON. Szwarz replaces John McFarland of the Sudbury Wolves who is unable to compete due to injury.
Szwarz, a 19-year-old from Burlington, ON, has 19 points in 20 games so far in his fourth OHL season with the Spirit. A Phoenix Coyotes prospect, Szwarz was selected in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and has seven goals and 12 assists with a team-best plus-minus rating of plus-14 this season.
Team OHL looks to stay undefeated against Team Russia in SUBWAY Super Series action on Monday night following a 4-0 win in London on Thursday. The Russians currently lead the series 2-1 after opening with two wins over Team QMJHL in Saint John, NB, and Drummondville, QC.
