Rebels’ Patrik Bartosak Named Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Patrik Bartosak of the Red Deer Rebels is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 16 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .966.
Bartosak stopped 56 shots in the two games including a 30-save performance on Wednesday as part of a 4-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. He also made 26 saves on Saturday in a first star performance resulting in a 4-1 Rebels win against one of the top Eastern Conference teams the Regina Pats.
Bartosak, an 18-year-old from Ostrava, Czech Republic, is playing in his first WHL season. He has made seven starts for the Rebels this season with a 5-2-0-0 record posting a goals-against-average of 1.98 and save percentage of .933.
Also considered for the award this week was Maxime Lagacé of the P.E.I Rocket who posted a 1-0-1-0 record with a goals-against-average of 2.40 and save percentage of .940. Keegan Wilson of the Brampton Battalion also had a win and overtime loss but posted a 0.98 goals-against-average and a .963 save percentage in his two starts.
