Rebels prevail with third period surge
Three third period goals powered the Mississauga Rebels to a 4-1 victory over Team NOHA, improving their record to 2-1.
Registering a three-point game, Alex Carscadden (1) opened the scoring for Mississauga before NOHA’s Maverick Hill (1) would tie the game in the second.
The Rebels would come out hot in the final frame, as Owen McGuckin (2) found the back of the net on top of a pair of markers from Colton Woods (2, 3) to finalize the win.
“It was a close game until that final period when we finally started playing our game. Now we just have to prepare for tomorrow as we look to win the tournament,” said Carscadden.
Leading the Rebels in scoring, Woods earned Player of the Game honours for Mississauga, while Mason Walker also earned Team NOHA’s recognition.
Team NOHA returns to the ice tomorrow at 1:15pm as they take on the Ottawa Valley Titans, while the Rebels look to secure their third win of the tournament tomorrow evening when they face off against the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks in their final Round Robin matchup.
