Austin Hall earns Tim Adams Memorial Award as OHL Cup MVP
TORONTO – Scoring twice in Saturday’s OHL Cup Championship Final, Detroit HoneyBaked forward Austin Hall earned both Player of the Game recognition as well as the Tim Adams Memorial Award as the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 OHL Cup.
Hall led the tournament with 14 points (7-7–14) over seven games, turning heads in Saturday’s final to help HoneyBaked become the first American-based team to hoist the OHL Cup. His 46 shots on goal led the tournament and his plus-10 rating was the second-highest.
A product of Livonia, Michigan, Hall had points in all seven OHL Cup contests, with six of those of the multi-point variety. He opened the showcase with a hat-trick in a 3-1 win over the Toronto Marlboros on Tuesday. He was prominent in both of Detroit’s Thursday wins, collecting two assists in an 8-3 victory over the Markham Majors in the Quarterfinals before chipping in a goal and assist in a 5-3 Semi-Final win over the London Jr. Knights.
Hall was also named to the OHL Cup All-Star Team alongside HoneyBaked teammate Carter Nash in the crease.
The Tim Adams Memorial Award is annually presented in honour of Tim Adams, who was a graduate of the Greater Toronto Hockey League and a long-time coach of both the Toronto Marlboros and Toronto Young Nationals prior to his passing following a battle with cancer.
