Huron-Perth and Thunder Bay battle to scoreless draw
Three periods and overtime solved nothing between the Thunder Bay Kings and Huron-Perth Lakers as they finished in a scoreless tie.
In a battle between the pipes, Thunder Bay’s Carter George and Huron-Perth’s Colby-Booth Housego didn’t allow a goal, coming up with big saves for their team in both regulation and overtime.
Booth-Housego earned the Huron-Perth Player of the Game award and talked about what it took to keep the puck out of the net. “It took a lot of teamwork, I couldn’t have done this without my defencemen and forwards blocking shots, it was a full team effort.”
Morgan Henderson took home Player of the Game honours for Thunder Bay.
“It means a lot to play at such a big event, especially with all the scouts. All the boys have been excited to be here,” added Booth-Housego, speaking on what it means to compete at the OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour.
Thunder Bay finishes its OHL Cup schedule with a record of 1-2-1. Blueliner Morgan Henderson led the team with three assists.
Huron-Perth wraps up their Round Robin tonight at 5:15 pm against the Markham Majors.
