Otters’ Cernak invited to Slovakia National Junior Team Selection Camp

Erie Otters defenceman Erik Cernak has been invited to Slovakia’s National Junior Team Selection Camp.
The Los Angeles Kings’ second round pick in 2015 looks to return to the Slovakian National Junior Team after appearing in six games at the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championship in Toronto and Montreal, registering two assists. The Slovaks medaled for the first time since 1999, defeating Sweden 4-2 to claim bronze.
A native of Kosice, Slovakia, the 6’3″, 217Ib. Cernak has three goals, five assists and eight points in 18 games with the Otters this season. He was Erie’s first round (54th overall) pick in the 2015 CHL Import Draft.
Slovakia embarks on the 2016 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Helsinki, Finland on December 27 against Belarus.
