Thursday Highlights: Colts round-up 67’s
BARRIE 6, OTTAWA 3
The Barrie Colts went 4-for-4 on the power play, rounding up the first place Ottawa 67’s by a score of 6-3 on home ice. The Colts hand the 67’s a second consecutive loss, winning despite being outshot 34-16 as rookie winger Tyson Foerster (6, 7) opened things up with a pair of goals. Ben Hawerchuk (25, 26) also scored twice while defencemen Victor Hadfield (2) and Jack York (7) also struck for the Colts. St. Louis Blues prospect Tyler Tucker racked up four assists in the win while 2019 NHL Draft prospect Ryan Suzuki had three to his credit. Jet Greaves made 31 saves in goal, surrendering Ottawa goals by Sam Bitten (12), Austen Keating (21) and Sasha Chmelevski (30). Ottawa falls to 44-11-3-2 following their second straight loss to a team outside of the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Barrie’s playoff chances only improve as they climb to within three points of eighth place North Bay in the Eastern Conference sporting a 25-31-3-1 record.

PETERBOROUGH 5, WINDSOR 1
The Peterborough Petes scored five times on 19 shots as sophomore forward Chad Denault (7, 8) lit the lamp twice in a 5-1 road win over the Windsor Spitfires. Nick Robertson (23), Chris Paquette (26) and Liam Kirk (20) also scored for the Petes while Hunter Jones made 29 saves. Spits rookie Will Cuylle (25) scored the lone goal for his team in the loss as Windsor dropped a third straight decision. Peterborough climbs into a sixth place tie with Hamilton in the Eastern Conference, improving to 28-29-1-2. Windsor holds a three-point lead over ninth place Erie in the Western Conference and owns a 24-30-4-3 record on the season.

OWEN SOUND 8, NORTH BAY 4
The Owen Sound Attack outpaced the North Bay Battalion in a 12-goal contest, emerging with an 8-4 road win behind Barret Kirwin’s (17, 18, 19) first OHL hat-trick. Los Angeles Kings prospect Aidan Dudas (24) finished with a goal and three assists while Cade Robinson (7), Andrew Perrott (3), Sergey Popov (7) and former Battalion forward Adam McMaster (15) also found the back of the net for Owen Sound. Igor Chibrikov, Carter Robertson, Brady Lyle and Maksim Sushko all picked up a pair of assists as the Attack outshot the Battalion 35-24, snapping a five-game losing skid. Mason Primeau (11), Luke Burghardt (7), Justin Brazeau (52) and Matthew Struthers (27) scored North Bay goals as the Troops fell to 26-29-3-2. Owen Sound picks up two important points as they remain within two points of fifth place Kitchener in the Western Conference sporting a 28-26-4-2 record.
