Sting name Kevin Spinozzi Captain

SARNIA, ON – General Manager Nick Sinclair and the Sarnia Sting coaching staff announced today that overage defenceman, Kevin Spinozzi has been named team captain. Jordan Kyrou, Anthony Salinitri, and Jaden Lindo will take on a leadership role with the club as well; joining Alex Black and Ryan McGregor as assistant captains.

Spinozzi is now 20 games into his fifth Ontario Hockey League season, and fourth as a member of the Sarnia Sting. Originally drafted in the second round of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, Spinozzi was acquired by the Sting in a deal that took place just days before the 2013/14 trade deadline.

Through five OHL seasons, the Granby, Que. native has played in 237 regular season games (174 with the Sting) – tallying 21 goals and 89 points while boasting a career plus/minus rating of +50.
