OHL Referee Dave Lewis Offically Retires
This past Sunday, referee Dave Lewis took to the ice for the final time in his Ontario Hockey League career, officiating the second game of the rivalry series between the Oshawa Generals and the Peterborough Petes. The matchup marked his 554th OHL game.
Before puck drop, both teams honoured Lewis with a pre-game ceremony recognizing his remarkable career. The tribute included a ceremonial puck drop, with the captains from each team dropping the puck to Lewis and fellow referee Jesse Wilmot.
“Over his distinguished career, Dave has demonstrated professionalism, consistency, and a deep commitment to the craft of officiating,” said OHL Director of Officiating Conrad Hache.

- 65 NHL games over five seasons (2012–2017)
- 500+ AHL games
- 2 Memorial Cups – 2011 (Mississauga) and 2023 (Kamloops)
