NHL Debut: Tristan Lennox (Apr. 10, 2025)
Tristan Lennox made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders on Thursday night at UBS Arena, entering in relief during their 9-2 loss to the New York Rangers. The 22-year-old goaltender allowed one goal on two shots in the third period before Marcus Högberg returned to the net. Lennox was selected by the Islanders in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
Recalled Thursday morning from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League, Lennox has appeared in four AHL games this season, posting a 0-3 record with a 4.44 goals-against average and a .832 save percentage. He spent the 2023-24 campaign with the ECHL’s Worcester Railers, going 5-6-2 with a 2.94 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in 13 games.
A native of Cambridge, Ont., Lennox spent four seasons in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit after being selected 26th overall in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. In 121 regular season appearances, he compiled a 59-45-5-4 record with four shutouts, a 3.26 goals-against average, and an .887 save percentage.
