Michael Podolioukh commits to Battalion
The North Bay Battalion announced via Twitter (@OHLBattalion) on Friday that they’ve signed forward Michael Podolioukh out of training camp.
A late 2004-born centreman from Toronto, Podolioukh was the Battalion’s fourth round (70th overall) pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 program. he recorded 16 points (2-14–16) over 36 games during the 2019-20 season before helping Troops teammate Ty Nelson and the Jr. Canadiens win a GTHL championship with five points (3-2–5) over 11 playoff outings.
The 6-foot, left-shot pivot spent the 2020-21 season playing in Sweden, combining for five points (1-4–5) across three levels with the Borlange HF club.
Podolioukh and the Battalion open their pre-season schedule on Saturday, September 18th at home to the Owen Sound Attack at 2:00pm.
