Generals’ Griffin signs amateur tryout contract with Cleveland

The AHL’s Cleveland Monsters announced that they have signed forward Owen Griffin to an amateur tryout (ATO) contract. In 66 appearances for the Oshawa Generals this season, Griffin posted a team high 67 points (25-42-67) with 54 penalty minutes.

A 5’11”, 170 lb. right-shooting native of Markham, ON, Griffin, 18, was selected by Columbus in the fifth round (160th overall) of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. In 189 career OHL appearances for Oshawa spanning parts of three seasons from 2023-26, Griffin registered 48-76-124 with 100 penalty minutes.
