Fifth overall pick Parker Vaughan signs with Colts

Barrie, ON – The Barrie Colts are proud to announce the signing of the 2024 fifth overall selection, Parker Vaughan to an OHL Scholarship and Education Agreement.

Vaughan was named the ALLIANCE Hockey Player of the Year after registering 49 points (23 goals, 26 assists) in 30 games for the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks U16 program. He suited up for his hometown St. Thomas Stars of the GOJHL (Jr. B) where he compiled nine points (two goals, seven assists) in five games.

“Parker defined himself as one of the top U16 hockey players in his draft class this year for the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks. He brings a lot to the table with his skillset, goal-scoring ability, and understanding of the game. Our coaching staff is looking forward to working with Parker to help him continue his dream of one day playing in the NHL. We look forward to having Parker and his family be a part of the Colts family ” Commented Head Coach & GM, Marty Williamson.
