Colts acquire Figliomeni from Generals for 2030 draft pick
The Barrie Colts have acquired forward Anthony Figliomeni from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for Barrie’s fourth-round selection in the 2030 OHL Priority Selection.
The 2008-born forward joins Barrie after spending parts of two seasons with the Generals, appearing in 70 regular-season games and recording eight goals, nine assists and 17 points.
Figliomeni appeared in 15 games after joining Oshawa during the 2024-25 season, recording two goals and two assists. He also suited up in four playoff contests during the Generals’ run to the 2025 OHL Championship Series.
The Mississauga, ON native played his first full OHL season in 2025-26, finishing with six goals, seven assists and 13 points along with 60 penalty minutes in 55 games.
Selected by Oshawa in the fourth round, 65th overall, of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, Figliomeni spent his minor hockey career with the Toronto Marlboros. He recorded 17 goals and 49 points in 54 games with the Marlboros U16 AAA program during his draft season.
The 5-foot-11, 208-pound winger adds another physical presence to a Barrie forward group that reached the OHL Championship Series last spring.
Colts General Manager Marty Williamson told Gene Pereira of Barrie 360 that Figliomeni’s combination of age, physicality and offensive upside made him an attractive addition for the club.
“He kind of fits us a little bit going forward and into next year, being an ’08,” Williamson told Barrie 360. “It just seemed like a really good value move for us, and Dylan Smoskowitz had a very good relationship with him.
“We think he’ll score some goals for us, plus he plays a rugged game too.”
Williamson also noted that the acquisition gives Barrie a player who can contribute this season while continuing to develop with the club’s young core.
“He’s got a reputation as a hard-nosed kid, and we just think it fits us a little bit, and hopefully we can get some goals out of him too, get a bit of a combination,” Williamson told Barrie 360. “He can kind of grow into next year with this group.”
Figliomeni could make his Colts debut on Friday when Barrie visits the Brampton Steelheads at the CAA Centre.
