2026 OHL Battle of the Border: Results, highlights and tournament updates
October 16–18, 2026 | Windsor, ON
The 2026 OHL Battle of the Border presented by Destination Ontario is underway in Windsor, ON, bringing together 12 of the top U16 AAA and American 15O hockey programs for three days of competition at the WFCU Centre.
Returning for the first time since 2019, the showcase features six teams from Ontario and six from the United States competing in 27 games from October 16–18. Along with an opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of OHL scouts ahead of the 2027 OHL Priority Selection, the two teams that reach Sunday’s championship final will each earn an automatic berth in the 2027 OHL Cup.
“There’s nothing quite like a cross-border rivalry, and the Battle of the Border brings out the very best in these players,” said OHL Commissioner Bryan Crawford. “Events like this are vital to the future of our league. With OHL scouts on hand for an early-season check-in on some of the top prospects on both sides of the border, it’s a tremendous opportunity for these young athletes to show what they can do, and we’re thrilled to bring the event back to Windsor.”
The tournament features 24 preliminary round games on Friday and Saturday, followed by Sunday’s semifinals and championship final. With Ontario and American teams competing in separate divisions, the format guarantees a cross-border matchup for the championship.
The Battle of the Border has been a fixture on the OHL scouting calendar, with the 2019 edition featuring 24 teams across U14 and U15 divisions. This year’s return also includes OHL information seminars and a Windsor Spitfires facility tour for participating players.
Follow along throughout the weekend for game recaps, standout performances, tournament updates and the latest results from Windsor.
