Bulldogs acquire 2025 first-round pick Sementsov from Colts
The Brantford Bulldogs have acquired forward Aleksandr Sementsov from the Barrie Colts in exchange for Oshawa’s fifth-round pick in the 2028 OHL Priority Selection.
Sementsov, a 2009-born winger from St. Petersburg, Russia, was selected by Barrie with the 18th overall pick of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
The 5-foot-11, 176-pound forward came to Canada in 2023, joining the Toronto Red Wings U15 AAA program and recording 17 goals, 20 assists and 37 points in 37 GTHL games.
Sementsov emerged as one of Ontario’s top U16 scorers the following season with the Halton Hurricanes. He registered 21 goals, 55 assists and 76 points in 34 OMHA league games, finishing the 2024-25 campaign with 51 goals, 85 assists and 136 points over 69 games across all competition.
He added eight points in six OMHA playoff contests before recording three goals and two assists in four games at the 2025 OHL Cup.
Following his first-round selection by the Colts, Sementsov spent the majority of the 2025-26 season with the OJHL’s Newmarket Hurricanes, producing six goals, 15 assists and 21 points over 42 games in his first full season of junior hockey.

Sementsov will begin the 2026-27 season with the GOHL’s Brantford Titans and will be available to the Bulldogs as an affiliate player.
