OHL 20 in 20 Futures Watch: Kingston Frontenacs
The future of the Kingston Frontenacs may take some time to build but they’ve found a sturdy foundation with defenceman Jake Murray.
Selected 13th overall, the 6’2” 190lb blue liner was the club’s lone pick in the first three rounds of the 2018 OHL Priority Selection after a historical playoff run that saw the Frontenacs advance to the third round for the first time in 25 years.
Murray produced 33 points in 34 games for the Oakville Rangers who enjoyed an undefeated regular season in OMHA play. Following the draft he competed for Team OMHA Black and won bronze at the 2018 OHL Gold Cup in May before announcing his official commitment to the Frontenacs just days later.
Next up for Murray is Hockey Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-17 Development Camp from July 21-27 in Calgary where he’ll compete along with Fronts seventh round pick Mathias Onuska.
