Sunday Highlights: Murphy, Golod lead Otters to victory
ERIE 4, NIAGARA 0
Daniel Murphy stopped all 28 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season as the Erie Otters blanked visiting Niagara 4-0. Maxim Golod (7, 8) scored twice while Danial Singer (4) and Hayden Fowler (8) also found the scoresheet as Erie outshot Niagara 44-28. Niagara’s Christian Sbaraglia was the lone bright spot for his team, making 40 saves in the loss as the Dogs dropped a fifth straight decision, falling to 5-10-2-1. The Otters improve to 8-6-1-2, good for second in a tight Midwest Division.

LONDON 5, OSHAWA 1
The London Knights took their fifth win in the past six games, defeating the CHL’s third-ranked Oshawa Generals 5-1 on the road. Ottawa Senators prospect Jonathan Gruden earned first star honours with three assists while Matvey Guskov (4), Luke Evangelista (6), Connor McMichael (17), Alec Regula (6) and Liam Foudy (4) took care of the scoring. Dylan Myskiw turned aside 28 shots in his first OHL start to get the win as the Knights went 2-for-3 on the power play. Ty Tullio (10) scored Oshawa’s lone goal midway through the first period as the Generals remain atop the East Division by one point on Ottawa, holding a 12-3-0-1 record. The Knights improve to 8-4-1-1, winning both their games over the weekend.

OTTAWA 7, HAMILTON 4
The Ottawa 67’s rounded out a perfect three-in-three road trip, defeating the Hamilton Bulldogs 7-4 for their sixth straight win. Joseph Garreffa (4, 5) scored twice while Jack Quinn (9) earned first star honours with a goal and an assist as Ottawa outshot Hamilton 37-18. Noel Hoefenmayer (7), Quinn Yule (1), Mitchell Hoelscher (12) and Yanic Crete (2) also found the back of the net while Will Cranley made 14 saves in the win. Jan Jenik (10, 11) stayed hot with a pair of goals for Hamilton while Arthur Kaliyev (19) had a goal and two assists. Tag Bertuzzi (6) rounded out the Hamilton scoring while Nathan Staios had two helpers. The 67’s took weekend wins in Niagara, Erie and Hamilton to improve to 12-4-0-0, one point shy of first place Oshawa in the East Division. Hamilton falls to 8-9-1-0.

PETERBOROUGH 8, NORTH BAY 3
The Peterborough Petes peppered the North Bay Battalion with 52 shots, taking an 8-3 road win to close out the weekend. Arizona Coyotes prospect Liam Kirk (10) earned first star honours with a goal and two assists while Nick Robertson (18, 19) and Cameron Butler (5, 6) both scored twice. Keegan McMullen (1), Brady Hinz (4) and Zach Gallant (6) also converted while Jacob Paquette had two assists and Declan Chisholm stretched his point streak to 15 games with one of his own. Hunter Jones made 27 saves for the win, surrendering North Bay goals from Alex Christopoulos (2), Brad Chenier (4) and Niki Korpialho (2). The Petes improve to 11-5-0-0, three points back of first place Oshawa in the East Division. North Bay suffers a seventh straight loss to fall to 3-13-0-0.
