SARNIA, ON – The Erie Otters skated away with a 9-3 victory in Game 2 of the best-of-seven series at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
Aidan Hughes allowed 7 goals on 31 shots after getting the game-time nod by the Sting coaching staff. Sarnia-native and starting goaltender Justin Fazio suffered a lower body injury in warm-ups and wasn’t fit for the contest. Rookie Blair Coffin took the ice in relief of Hughes at 15:16 of the second period and turned aside 12 of 14 in his first OHL playoff contest.
Jordan Ernst and Kevin Spinozzi (2) provided the scoring for the Sting while 7 different skaters found the back of the net for the Otters. Cirelli and Strome each scored twice with Cernak, T. Raddysh, Lodnia, Foegele and Hopkins chipped in with singles.
The two teams will square off again on Monday night at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Game #3. The Box Office Arena is open from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Sunday and then again at 10:00 AM on Monday morning. Tickets are also available online here or by visiting the Lambton Mall Guest Relations kiosk (near Toys R’ Us).
