Colin MacDonald’s first goal of the season with 2:25 to play spoiled a solid effort from by home side on Thursday night, as Plymouth dumped Windsor, 4-3, in front of 5,656 at the WFCU Centre.
Jordan Maletta, Nick Ebert and Jeff Braithwaite each had their fourth goals of the season, as the Spitfires (24-27-3-2) fired 41 shots at Matt Mahalak.
Braithwaite’s goal was his first as a Spitfire.
Tied at 2-2 after 40 minutes, the Spits got into penalty trouble. And Jamie Devane made them pay, scoring his 19th of the season, during a 5-on-3 advantage, at 7:24 of the third.
But Braithwaite replied just 2:13 later on the PP, tying the game at 3-3.
MacDonald’s winner was an unassisted floater from the point that found its way through bodies and over John Cullen’s (20 saves) glove-hand shoulder.
We’re right back at it Friday night in London.
Mike Miller is on the air at 7:00 with the pre-game show on AM800 Radio.
