Johnson, Ho-Sang each score twice

It took almost 56 minutes, but the Spitfires finally shoot a pesky Sarnia Sting bunch on Saturday night with three late goals, in an eventual 6-3 win before 5,637 at the WFCU Centre.
Ben Johnson (10, 11) and Josh Ho-Sang (13, 14) each scored twice, while Cristiano DiGiacinto and Slater Koekkoek had a pair of assists, as Windsor (16-10-0-0) snapped a nagging, three-game losing streak.
LATE SURGE
Tied at 3-3 in the waning moments of the third, Johnson finished off a 2-on-1 rush with DiGiacinto, beating Brodie Barrick (36 saves) to give the Spits a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
With Sarnia (9-17-0-1) trying to get Barrick to the bench for an extra attacker, Ho-Sang swiped his own rebound before the goaltender could cover it, rifling home the insurance goal into an empty cage.
The Spits added a power play goal with just a second to play.
Credited to Ty Bilcke, it actually appeared to be defenceman Patrick Sanvido’s first of the season. Although not officially changed, the marker would also be Sanvido’s first OHL goal.
Remy Giftopoulos (10) had the other goal for the home side.
The Spits are right back at it Sunday afternoon, as they travel to Sarnia to close out the back half of this home-and-home series.
